Description Michal Jaegermann 2012-01-06 02:06:44 UTC
Description of problem:

mahjongg from gnome-games-extra does not start. Running that from a terminal produces the following

$ mahjongg

Gtk-WARNING **: This process is currently running setuid or setgid.
This is not a supported use of GTK+. You must create a helper
program instead. For further details, see:

    http://www.gtk.org/setuid.html

Refusing to initialize GTK+.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-games-3.3.3-2.fc17

How reproducible:
always

Additional info:
'mahjongg' indeed has permissions "-r-xr-s--x 1 root games", ie. 2551 setgid games, but between package gnome-games and gnome-games-extra there is nine other executables set apparently the same way and they seem to start without any trouble (I did try only some of those). I did not attempt to find out at this moment what is really amiss here.

gnome-games-3.3.3-2.fc17 is not in f16, adjusting version

Comment 2 Matthias Clasen 2012-02-14 01:33:59 UTC
Seems to work fine here in 3.3.5

Now it works here too. OTOH it would be nice to know on what it was really tripping.
