We can't fix this on the 4.2 branch, because this requires an update to smooks.

4.3.CP02 CR3 still ships smooks 1.0.1 where this bug is present

We will look at creating smooks 1.0.2 for inclusion in 4.3 CP03.

This issue is not approved for SOA 4.3 CP03. If this needs to be reconsidered, please raise the issue with the SOA PM team.
