Description Jaroslaw Kijanowski 2010-01-13 16:54:17 UTC
Affects: Release Notes
Date of First Response: 2010-01-18 10:06:00
project_key: SOA

The web console is available at http://localhost:8080/web-console but the URL is missing on the main page.

Comment 1 Julian Coleman 2010-01-18 15:06:00 UTC
All the information provided in the old web-console (and more) is available in the
new admin-console.

This should be noted in the release notes. Maybe:

The "JBoss Management Console" that was available in SOA-P releases 4.2
and 4.3 has been superceded in SOA-P 5 by the "Admin Console". Although
no link is provided from the SOA-P 5 main page, the management console
is still available at the URL:

    /web-console

Comment 4 David Le Sage 2010-01-27 01:30:13 UTC
We have added this text:

"The JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform includes a new web-based administration
console. Deployed ESB services can be examined in this console as well as
your traditional Java EE components such as datasources and JMS queues.
Note that the old console has been deprecated but it can still be accessed at http://localhost:8080/web-console."

Is this okay?

Comment 5 Jaroslaw Kijanowski 2010-01-27 11:29:11 UTC
I would change "Note that the old console has been ..." to "Note that the old "JBoss Management Console" has been ..."

I think it's also worth to mention that the old JBoss ESB Management Console (available at /jbossesb) has been *replaced* with the new admin console and is no longer available.

Comment 6 David Le Sage 2010-02-02 05:19:57 UTC
Thanks. I have added the information supplied above by Jaroslaw and that emailed to me from Julian Coleman.

Text now reads:

The JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform includes a new web-based Administration Console.
You can examine both deployed ESB services and traditional Java EE components such as
datasources and JMS queues from this console.

  These are the new consoles:

    • JBoss SOA Administration Console (JOPR)
    • Web Services Cosnole (listing deployed services)
    • jUDDI Registry (with UDDI Browser, publisher, subscription and search functionality)

    Removed:
    • JBoss ESB Management Console

               Note
Note that this console's functionality is now available through the new JBoss SOA
               Administration Console.

    Deprecated:
    • JBoss Management Console

               Note
This console can still be accessed at http://localhost:8080/web-console

    Unchanged:
     JMX Console
     jBPM Console
     JBossESB Service List
     Tomcat status (full) (XML)

Sounds good.
