There's no way to create a Teiid File connection from JBDS/Teiid Designer.  There's also no way to do it from the console.  A user has to create the ds.xml manually and deploy it.

One possible resolution for this issue is to use the DTP File connection profile (it it has the required information) and link it into the Teiid Designer's ability to create the datasource in Teiid.

Patch/fix is now available from TEIIDDES-779 that exposes/wires up Eclipse's Flat File connection profile and works same way as JDBC connection.  Recommend we put this in JBDS CR2 and get in for release.
