Description of problem: While running yum to install updates an error is given during the transaction test:

unknown error 88137 encountered while manipulating package kernel-PAE-3.1.9-1.fc16.i686

Found the problem. There was not enough space on the /boot partition.

I solved it now by uninstalling some older kernels and trying to update to the new kernel afterwards. Which now was a success.

However, the given error message is not very clear about this.
