Description Ken Dreyer 2012-01-16 22:01:10 UTC
Description of problem:
logger is not writing to /var/log/messages in Rawhide.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
util-linux-2.20.1-3.fc17.i686

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run "logger hello"
2. Tail /var/log/messages

Actual results:
3. There's no line "hello".

Expected results:
There should be a "hello" line.

Additional info:
This is a regression from F15, at least. logger from util-linux-2.19.1-1.4.fc15 works on my F15 box.

$ logger "this works for me baby"

$ sudo tail -1 /var/log/messages
Jan 17 11:54:57 x2 kzak: this works for me baby

$ rpm -qf /usr/bin/logger
util-linux-2.20.1-2.1.fc16.x86_64

I'll check F17/rawhide later...
