Description Dmitri Pal 2012-01-18 21:05:32 UTC
This bug is created as a clone of upstream ticket:
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2273

The compat plugin just adds overhead during a migration and we've seen cases where it caused 389-ds to run out of memory. Our recommendation is to disable it during migration.

The migration sequence would look something like:

{{{
# ipa-compat-manage-manage disable
# service dirsrv restart
# ipa migrate-ds ...
# ipa compat-manage enable
# service dirsrv restart
}}}
