Systems with localized names resulted in errors when registering in System Engine through Red Hat Subscription Manager (RHSM). An error in the candlepin component prevented special characters from being used as the system name. This fix updates the candlepin option to allow any characters in system name.

I managed to register without any problem to an org and name with such name when I created them via UI. Running both client and server on rhel 6.2. Partha, what version of sunscription-manager did you use? There are other known bugs regarding i18n but this one seems to be fixed. Setting blocked on 790138 for testing purposes. It is really a duplicate but this one uses sub-mgr to register and the other uses web ui. not marked as a blocker for v1, moving to 1.0.1 ON_DEV to match 790138 # subscription-manager --force register --username guest --password guest --org goias --env amanha The system has been registered with id: 6bd1a462-37c6-4ed7-ae10-3eed8f8793b1 The org name is Goiás with label=goias and Environment is Amanhã with label=amanha. Is this the designed way to subscribe? Using labels? # subscription-manager register --user admin --password admin --org Goiás --env Amanhã # yum repolist Loaded plugins: product-id, security, subscription-manager Updating certificate-based repositories. Please use yum-config-manager to configure which software repositories are used with Red Hat Subscription Management. 2b0c8ed8-bc92-47fa-8ab1-b1f06177c478_Zoo_3e4ec6eb-ec1c-4af6-b108-bafaa61e1ee0 | 3.0 kB 00:00 2b0c8ed8-bc92-47fa-8ab1-b1f06177c478_Zoo_3e4ec6eb-ec1c-4af6-b108-bafaa61e1ee0/primary_db | 31 kB 00:00 2b0c8ed8-bc92-47fa-8ab1-b1f06177c478_Zoo_Animals | 3.0 kB 00:00 2b0c8ed8-bc92-47fa-8ab1-b1f06177c478_Zoo_Animals/primary_db | 31 kB 00:00 repo id repo name status 2b0c8ed8-bc92-47fa-8ab1-b1f06177c478_Zoo_3e4ec6eb-ec1c-4af6-b108-bafaa61e1ee0 Perer.. 136 2b0c8ed8-bc92-47fa-8ab1-b1f06177c478_Zoo_Animals Animals 136 repolist: 272 [root@qeclient12 ~]# cat /etc/yum.repos.d/redhat.repo # # Certificate-Based Repositories # Managed by (rhsm) subscription-manager # # If this file is empty and this system is subscribed consider # a "yum repolist" to refresh available repos # [2b0c8ed8-bc92-47fa-8ab1-b1f06177c478_Zoo_Animals] name = Animals baseurl = https://qetello02.usersys.redhat.com/pulp/repos/2b0c8ed8-bc92-47fa-8ab1-b1f06177c478/bf2e2afa-cd63-41b2-b308-0563d4ff6bfa//custom/Zoo/Animals enabled = 1 gpgcheck = 0 sslverify = 1 sslcacert = /etc/rhsm/ca/candlepin-local.pem sslclientkey = /etc/pki/entitlement/2483872460362601225-key.pem sslclientcert = /etc/pki/entitlement/2483872460362601225.pem [2b0c8ed8-bc92-47fa-8ab1-b1f06177c478_Zoo_3e4ec6eb-ec1c-4af6-b108-bafaa61e1ee0] name = Perer.. baseurl = https://qetello02.usersys.redhat.com/pulp/repos/2b0c8ed8-bc92-47fa-8ab1-b1f06177c478/bf2e2afa-cd63-41b2-b308-0563d4ff6bfa//custom/Zoo/3e4ec6eb-ec1c-4af6-b108-bafaa61e1ee0 enabled = 1 gpgcheck = 0 sslverify = 1 sslcacert = /etc/rhsm/ca/candlepin-local.pem sslclientkey = /etc/pki/entitlement/2483872460362601225-key.pem sslclientcert = /etc/pki/entitlement/2483872460362601225.pem Verified using: * candlepin-0.7.8-1.el6cf.noarch * candlepin-selinux-0.7.8-1.el6cf.noarch * candlepin-tomcat6-0.7.8-1.el6cf.noarch * katello-1.1.12-12.el6cf.noarch * katello-all-1.1.12-12.el6cf.noarch * katello-candlepin-cert-key-pair-1.0-1.noarch * katello-certs-tools-1.1.8-1.el6cf.noarch * katello-cli-1.1.8-6.el6cf.noarch * katello-cli-common-1.1.8-6.el6cf.noarch * katello-common-1.1.12-12.el6cf.noarch * katello-configure-1.1.9-6.el6cf.noarch * katello-glue-candlepin-1.1.12-12.el6cf.noarch * katello-glue-pulp-1.1.12-12.el6cf.noarch * katello-qpid-broker-key-pair-1.0-1.noarch * katello-qpid-client-key-pair-1.0-1.noarch * katello-selinux-1.1.1-1.el6cf.noarch * pulp-1.1.12-1.el6cf.noarch * pulp-common-1.1.12-1.el6cf.noarch * pulp-selinux-server-1.1.12-1.el6cf.noarch Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
