We've added no patches to the 3.2 kernel in the ALSA area, so this is likely an upstream issue. Since you seem comfortable building your own kernels, would you mind reporting this to the upstream ALSA maintainers and working directly with them? If you wind up opening a bug in https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/, please add it to the External Trackers section. Will do. Are you still seeing this issue with the 3.3 final kernel or with 3.4-rc4/5? Not currently seeing it with kernel-3.3.2-6.fc16.x86_64. Great, thanks. Please reopen if it pops back up.
