Description Roman Kagan 2012-01-23 21:32:18 UTC
Description of problem:

gupnp-dlna is missing gobject-introspection stuff.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

gupnp-dlna-0.6.4-1.fc16.{x86_64,i686}

Steps to Reproduce:
1.rpm -ql gupnp-dlna | grep -F girepository

Actual results:

no typelib file

Expected results:

GUPnPDLNA-*.typelib in /usr/lib*/girepository-1.0

Additional info:

AFAICT this happened due to missing gobject-introspection-devel buildreq.

Package gupnp-dlna-0.6.4-3.fc16:
* should fix your issue,
* was pushed to the Fedora 16 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing gupnp-dlna-0.6.4-3.fc16'
as soon as you are able to.
Please go to the following url:
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2012-0863/gupnp-dlna-0.6.4-3.fc16
then log in and leave karma (feedback).

Comment 3 Roman Kagan 2012-01-24 19:02:47 UTC
Although this update technically resulted in a .gir in the repository, it doesn't work as designed because it defines "GUPnP" namespace thus conflicting with .gir of gupnp package.

This is an upstream bug and strictly speaking a separate issue, but without it the package doesn't work (and in my case it even hid the original GUPnP namespace so it might break someone's code using GUPnP via g-ir).

Should I file a separate bug for that?

Comment 4 Peter Robinson 2012-01-24 19:07:56 UTC
yes, will need a bug at bugzilla.gnome.org as its a source code bug not a distribution bug so needs to be tracked there. Feel free to update this ticket with the details of that bug number though

Comment 5 Roman Kagan 2012-01-24 19:20:23 UTC
Upstream bug: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=668606

My question was rather if I should better file a separate bug in RedHat bugzilla?

Comment 6 Peter Robinson 2012-01-24 19:22:54 UTC
you could but it would just get fixed once upstream push out a fixed release
