Description Lukas Redynk 2012-01-24 15:19:03 UTC
After today's (Tue, 24 Jan 2012 15:09:41 +0000) kernel update to version:
"3.2.1-3.fc16.x86_64" wifi card BCM4313 stopped working, card played well with brcmsmac module form 3.1.x kernel branch, but with b43 there's error at card init,
dmesg:
[ 257.565882] b43-phy1: Broadcom 4313 WLAN found (core revision 24)
[ 257.566039] b43-phy1 ERROR: FOUND UNSUPPORTED PHY (Analog 10, Type 8, Revision 1)
[ 257.566052] b43: probe of bcma0:0 failed with error -95
[ 257.566083] Broadcom 43xx driver loaded [ Features: PMNLS ]
and there's no trace of wlan0 at all.

Comment 1 Lukas Redynk 2012-01-24 20:49:03 UTC
When I tried build from src rpm, with config-x86_64-generic I've spotted one thing: cfg80211 wasn't checked in, this maybe prevent 'brcmsmac' from being build.

Confirm bug on bcm4313 fedora 16 kernel 3.2.1

Comment 3 penthium2 2012-01-26 08:33:29 UTC
confirm bug on Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller (rev 01)
under 3.2.1-3.fc16.i686.PAE

demsg :

[ 25.527717] b43-phy0: Broadcom 4313 WLAN found (core revision 24)
[ 25.528652] b43-phy0 ERROR: FOUND UNSUPPORTED PHY (Analog 10, Type 8, Revision 1)
[ 25.528731] b43: probe of bcma0:0 failed with error -95
[ 25.528807] Broadcom 43xx driver loaded [ Features: PMNLS ]

lsmod | grep b43
b43 338791 0
mac80211 264069 1 b43
cfg80211 164857 2 b43,mac80211
ssb 54981 1 b43
mmc_core 92203 2 b43,ssb
bcma 24898 1 b43

under kernel 3.1.9 it isn't the b43 module loaded but the brcmsmac, and if I try to load module brcmsmac :
rmmod b43 && modprobe brcmsmac
FATAL: Module brcmsmac not found.
