Description Mario Tokos 2012-01-25 10:12:40 UTC
Description of problem:
When I try install Fedora 16 from netinstall CD, my PC(with 192MB RAM, PIII 600MHz- Coppermine) ends with message that the initrd.img is too big.
Ubuntu netinstall image have only text verion, but it's very fast and small 25MB (entire iso). Instalation from live CD is realy imposible regarding very slow running - I can't select install option until 30minutes after start.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Fedora 16 netinstall image

How reproducible:
Use netinstall CD and try install on 192MB RAM machine, intel PIII 600MHz - Coppermine ,

Actual results:
I can't install Fedora linux on my old PC with 192MB RAM.

Expected results:
Make smaler initrd.image and make smaller CD image like UBUNTU cca 25MB(all data), not like FEDORA 250MB...

According to Release Notes
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/16/html/Release_Notes/sect-Release_Notes-Welcome_to_Fedora_16.html#sect-Release_Notes-Hardware_Overview
you need 768 MB of ram to run Fedora.
And even if we make smaller initrd, I think that fedora on this system would be quite unusable.
