Description chimilchim 2012-01-26 09:29:30 UTC
Description of problem: I use grub2 to load Fedora16 and windows7 on Acer Aspire One D257 notebook. If I reboot from windows 7, the grub2 menu loads (also if I power off the laptop from windows). If I reboot from Fedora16, only blank screen is displayed, any key combos I press do not have any effect.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora16

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Reboot from Fedora16
2. "Loading Ramdisk" message,"Unmounting" messages are displayed, then it reads "Rebooting"
3. Black Screen, no effect upon pressing any key combos, I have to power it off manually.

Actual results: Grub2 menu is not displayed

Expected results: Grub2 menu to be loaded

dmesg prompts me with the error "add reboot signal not sent to hardware". Also, the "shutdown now" command does not yield any errors.

can you try booting with the option reboot=k ?

I haven't tried that. But the solution from http://www.expertcore.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3009 seemed to work.
