Description Martin Simon 2012-01-30 15:43:05 UTC
Description of problem:
When read RSS by thunderbird-1.5.0.12-46 on rhel4 and ia64 arch (only) is written (system?) on terminal output messages like this:
thunderbird-bin(31136): unaligned access to 0x60000fffffffa4a4, ip=0x20000000013e6670

Once there was messages like this:
ld-linux-ia64.s(15506): floating-point assis fault at ip 2000000800052ea2, isr 0000020000001001
followed by crash of thunderbird

This is not regression (it's on thunderbird-1.5.0.16-45.el4.ia64 too)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
thunderbird-1.5.0.16-45.el4.ia64

How reproducible:
The message in terminal output 100%
The crash I couldn't reproduce so far

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Thunderbird in terminal by command
2. Add account for rss feed (e.g. http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss)
3. Click few times on any messages (to make them readable on bottom window)

Actual results:
There are several error messages, occasionally crash

Expected results:
No error message, no crash

Additional info:
This bug is only ia64 arch relative, I've tested it on different archs, but it happened only on ia64. It's not regression.

Comment 1 Martin Simon 2012-01-30 15:52:30 UTC
The "before crash" message (floating-point assist fault) comes from thunderbird-bin too, not only from ld-linux-ia64.s. All the addresses are naturally generic.

Comment 2 Martin Stransky 2012-06-11 09:39:24 UTC
RHEL4 is no longer supported so closing as WONTFIX.
