Description Alexander Kurtakov 2012-01-31 09:14:05 UTC
During eclipse installation I see the following in the log:
gogo: InterruptedException: sleep interrupted
java.lang.InterruptedException: sleep interrupted
        at java.lang.Thread.sleep(Native Method)
        at org.apache.felix.gogo.shell.Activator.run(Activator.java:72)
        at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:722)

This might be stopping eclipse from reconciling properly.

Comment 1 Alexander Kurtakov 2012-01-31 09:14:33 UTC
Chris,
Please take care of this one.

Comment 2 Krzysztof Daniel 2012-01-31 10:41:13 UTC
This is a result, not the cause.

Gogo shell Activator starts a new thread that processes console and interrupts it only on close

The thread calls Thread.sleep during service registration, so the error happens if and only if the Activator.close is called during shell initialization.

The exception itself is try-catched, so the exception has no effect on anything except the console.

Comment 3 Krzysztof Daniel 2012-01-31 10:42:52 UTC
I'm closing this bug as upstream because:
1. The error message does not affect how Eclipse works.
2. It does not appear when Eclipse reconciles properly.
3. The fix for this issue is not critical for the Eclipse build quality.

Comment 4 Alexander Kurtakov 2012-01-31 10:51:50 UTC
There are still 2 problems:
1. This error is reported during rpm install/uninstall which can make people believe there is problem with the installation. This should not be seen when installing eclipse rpm.
2. When you close as upstream you're supposed to have opened a bug upstream.

At least for issue 1 I'm reopening it.

Comment 5 Krzysztof Daniel 2012-01-31 17:59:24 UTC
I catch the exception and ignore it now.

Marking as closed rawhide because the patch is maintained currently by fedora.
