Will create an appendix to the Cloud Engine guide regarding iwhd recovery. Will include this bug and iwhd disaster recovery information (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=782872). Changing QA to the person who QA_ACK'd this bug. Thanks Dan, the documentation looks good. I'm not a lawyer, writer or a doctor, but I do have the following feedback for your consideration ... I might consider a slight rewording from ... > MongoDB is a database service that stores attributes and metadata for Image > Warehouse. It is possible in rare cases for MongoDB to improperly shutdown, > which locks the database. To ... > MongoDB is a database service that stores attributes and metadata for Image > Warehouse. In the event of an improper system shut down, MongoDB may fail to > start on boot due to the presence of a database lockfile. Systems affected > will include the following information in the mongo log > (/var/log/mongodb/mongodb.log). > > ************** > old lock file: /var/lib/mongodb/mongod.lock. probably means unclean shutdown > recommend removing file and running --repair > see: http://dochub.mongodb.org/core/repair for more information > ************* Additionally, the documented recovery procedure does not work. The following procedure works, I would recommend adjusting. # rm -f /var/lib/mongodb/mongod.lock # mongod --repair Moving back to assigned to address comment#4 suggestion and procedural change. Have modified the section and will be available in the next build. Document is now available on docs.redhat.com. Please raise a new bug for any further issues. LKB |
