Description of Problem:
When I try to install, upgrade an rpm package the operation seems never 
ending, I can't receive the command prompt back. 

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Red Hat 8 standard rpm package (rpm-4.1-1.06).

How Reproducible:
Try to install, upgrade an rpm package. It is not reproducible.

Steps to Reproduce:

Actual Results:
To install, upgrade an other rpm I have to reboot the machine.

Reporter - check the following two bugs to see if the solution provided will
assist you.  Your bug is a duplicate to Bug 73097.

jbj@redhat provides a work around for the problem and some test RPM 4.1 packages
at the following URL: ftp://people.redhat.com/jbj/test-4.1
