Description udo 2012-02-05 15:11:54 UTC
Description of problem:
the color of the Image viewer window does not harmonize well with the rest of the Gnome 3 desktop. It is shown in a dark, blackish color, while the rest of gnome is in grey.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
eog-3.2.1-2.fc16.x86_64

How reproducible:
Upgrade to F16, launch Image viewer by double clicking on a gif.

Actual results:
Dark window

Expected results:
Grey window

Additional info:
I did not find andy settings, at least not easily and intuitively findable, that could change this UI aspect.

This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.

Comment 2 Kalev Lember 2012-04-27 06:54:12 UTC
Hi Udo,

Thanks for reporting this, but it's not a bug, but rather a deliberate upstream choice to use the dark theme in eog. The same is also used in Totem.

Comment 3 udo 2012-04-27 18:24:12 UTC
That still doesn't make it match up with the rest of the theme.
Why isn't this configurable?
I mean, doesn't a UI have certain guidelines?

Comment 4 Kalev Lember 2012-04-27 18:36:03 UTC
As far as I know, it's not configurable. You might want to discuss this at eog mailing list, http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/eog-list .

For reference, this is the ticket where the dark theme was added:
