Description of problem: The system returns to a virtual screen without pressing Ctrl-Alt-F key sequence randomly. Furthermore, by pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1 to Ctrl-Alt-F6 you cannot switch to a VT. It looks like a KMS regression on Intel cards. It worked fine until latest updates a couple of week ago.

How reproducible: Boot the system and wait for a while. It also switches KDM logon screen without any activity or when you typing the password.


Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot the system
2. Either wait or type your password on KDM screen

Actual results:

The system randomly displays a VT logon screen.


Expected results:

VT logon screen should only appear upon Ctrl-Alt-FX sequence request.


Additional info:

It is also reproducible on KDE. After having logged in, the VT logon screen is randomly appearing. Mouse pointer however, remains the same with its loaded theme (Oxygen) even in the VT logon screen.

I'm not sure if this means the bug is in systemd rather than kernel, but I get these messages when it happens:
Feb 17 16:23:23 gaydeceiver systemd[1]: getty holdoff time over, scheduling restart.

On the other hand, I also have Intel graphics.  But upgrading to kernel 3.2.5 seemed to fix if for a while, but now it's happening with that kernel also (and 3.2.6).

Ah, yes, bug #782087 in systemd, which is getting a lot more attention there.  I'll take the liberty of marking this DUP, then.

Thank you very much Randall. I agree that present report is a duplicate of that issue. The described there symptoms matches perfectly.
