Description Christoph Trassl 2012-02-07 18:14:39 UTC
Description of problem:
dirvish has not been built for EPEL 6.

Please build it for EPEL 6.

Comment 1 Robert Marcano 2012-02-07 20:03:08 UTC
*** Bug 788230 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***

Comment 2 Robert Marcano 2012-02-07 20:05:25 UTC
I am still not using a EPEL 6 targeted distribution, give me a few days to install CentOS 6 on a VM, package and test it. I am pretty sure it should work as Bug #788230 states

Comment 3 Christoph Trassl 2012-04-19 06:16:34 UTC
Any update/eta on this one? Thanks.

Meanwhile i have rolled my own package (based on the fedora dirvish package), works fine.

Comment 4 Lev Shamardin 2012-11-08 17:17:01 UTC
Any progress with this? I could co-maintain the EL6 package if you wish.

Comment 5 Robert Marcano 2012-11-13 12:59:36 UTC
Sorry for only doing basic maintenance of these packages, someone requested commit access for EPEL a few days ago, I approved it, if that is your account it is ready, if not please request commit access

Comment 6 hypper 2013-11-02 19:09:43 UTC
Hi there. Can someone tell me if dirvish for CentOS 6(.4) is available anywhere in the meantime? I'd like to create a server that creates backups based on CentOS, since I think, CentOS is pretty reliable. Can't find any packages for it though.

Regards,
Daniel

Not sure what the delay is here (since, as I said over at #788230, the EPEL5 package works just fine on RHEL6) but I can certainly provide any help needed.

Comment 8 Ben Cotton 2020-11-05 16:52:47 UTC
This message is a reminder that EPEL 6 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for EPEL 6 on 2020-11-30. It is our policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a 'version' of 'el6'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later EPEL version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before EPEL 6 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

EPEL el6 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2020-11-30. EPEL el6 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
EPEL please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
