Description Toshio Ernie Kuratomi 2012-02-08 23:53:53 UTC
Description of problem:
Hi, the python-sqlite2 maintainer is wanting to orphan the package as
most/all code can use the sqlite3 module that's built into python-2.5+'s
stdlib instead. Taking a look at the packages that dep on it, I saw that
poky-depends has a Requires: python-sqlite2 but it doesn't appear to
use any python-sqlite2 code.

Since this is a metapackage for a piece of code outside of Fedora, do you know if the upstream code base requires python-sqlite2 or is sqlite3 from the stdlib sufficient? If so, could I remove the dependency and rebuild the package for F17 and rawhide?

Upstream has moved to the Yocto project after Intel bought o-hand.com. debian.o-hand.com (upstream) doesn't exist anymore!

I am not using this package now. Packaging Yocto will be a separate task, and we could orphan poky-scripts.

Okay -- do you want to retire this package in fedora 17 and rawhide then? I can take care of that if you just say it's what you want to do.

Yes, I want to retire the package poky-scripts for Fedora 17 and rawhide.

Retirement process finished for both F17 and rawhide
