Description Milan Broz 2012-02-10 08:15:57 UTC
Description of problem:

With systemd-41 update, chkconfig no longer forwards command to systemctl.

# chkconfig ntpd on
error reading information on service ntpd: No such file or directory

while systemctl works
# systemctl enable ntpd.service

The reason is perhaps systemd binary move to the deep and brave new world of /usr in systemd-41:
...
access("/bin/systemd", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
chkconfig-1.3.57-3.fc17.x86_64

With systemd-40 it still works.

AFAIK chkconfig is still supported interface and it should work even in new releases.
