Description John Reiser 2012-02-11 16:31:34 UTC
Description of problem: Please enhance the installation dialog for Network Configuration to display the udev interface name ("p8p1"), product name (as per "lspci") and cable status ("cable unplugged") at the same time as the 48-bit ethernet HWaddr. Of course using the HWaddr is sufficient and the best (and shortest) single datum, but also including the udev name, product name and cable status are Usability improvements, particularly when the box has more than one NIC or port.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
anaconda-17.7

How reproducible: every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Fresh install from DVD.
2. Click "Configure Network" button on Hostname dialog.
3. Look on tab for each network interface card.

Actual results:
   HWaddr 00:1B:21:30:DA:67

Expected results:
   HWaddr 00:1B:21:30:DA:67 udev:p8p1
Intel Corporation 82574L Gigabit Network Connection
   (cable unplugged)
