Description David James Koolhoven 2012-02-12 06:38:33 UTC
Description of problem: thttpd stops after a couple minutes of starting if starting from systemd.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): thttpd/2.25b 29dec2003

How reproducible: Completely

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run "su -c 'systemctl start thttpd.service'"
2. wait a couple minutes
3. check with "ps -e | grep thttpd"

Actual results:
thttpd stops within a couple minutes

Expected results:
thttpd keeps running until stopped with "kill".

Additional info:
The source of this problem is in the "/lib/systemd/system/thttpd.service"
file, the following line..
PIDFile=/var/run/thttpd
changing it to
PIDFile=/var/run/thttpd.pid
causes thttpd to stay up and running, and act as expected.

Likely cause is that the default PID file specified in the thttpd configuration file "/etc/thttpd.conf" has the line...
pidfile=/var/run/thttpd.pid

Problem is new so this is likely a result of systemd properly checking the PID files since the following URL indicates this was built into systemd versions in september of 2011
