Priority should be "Enhancement." Reason I say this is that there are already tools on your Red Hat Linux box that provides this feature. If you are using Gnome 2 as your desktop environment, you can opt to use the "Inbox Monitor" applet to add to your panel wherever you wish. Inbox Monitor is compatible with local mail spools, POP3, and IMAP. You can find the applet via: 1. Right-click on an empty spot of your Gnome Panel. 2. Select "Add to Panel" 3. Select "Internet" 4. Select "Inbox Monitor" You should see the applet appear somewhere on your Gnome Panel. Right click on the applet's face and select "Preferences" to configure and setup the applet. There is support for doing this sort of thing in evolution 1.2, which is currently available in rawhide. |
