Description Daniel Paikov 2012-02-13 12:53:44 UTC
Operating system can be missing packages that are required for FCP operation but aren't in the VDSM dependency list. In my case, I was missing the RPM ql2400-firmware, which is needed by the qla2xxx driver but isn't necessarily installed. If the firmware is missing, the driver is loaded but isn't functional and FCP functionality is completely lost without VDSM being aware of it.

According to danken, this requires a release note.

Which release notes? The release was last week...

you may want to mention that the cited hardware requires installed software on each node, and that oVirt itself is not installing or reporting this fact.

on the other hand, this maybe obvious to potential FC users. I don't care if you close this bug.
