Description of problem:
When attempting to install Redhat 8.0, the kernel (from floppy, boot.img) dies 
when attempting to sort out APICs on Pentium Pro 200 (one cpu).

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot from boot.img image floppy
2. press return when syslinux splash screen appears
3.
	

Actual Results:  Hangs on following line:

ESR: value before enabling vector: 00000004

Expected Results:  Should boot fine e.t.c...

Additional info:

Providing noapic and/or nosmp as boot options does not help.

can you try "apic" instead ?

Trying 'linux apic' makes no difference - same symptoms.

Any further suggestions?

Arjan - some early ppro boxes wont boot with an apic aware kernel.

I have the same problem with a Pentium II on 
a Tyan S1686S motherboard.

This problem is present in phoebe as well.

Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of
the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem
persists.

and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in
