The following note at the bottom of Chapter 13.9.2 is a remainder of the JBP 2.6 docs and should now be removed, as EPP 4.3 does support JSR-286:

"The portlet 2.0 specification (JSR 286) will cover Inter Portlet Communication so that portlets using it can work with different portal vendors."

http://www.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Enterprise_Portal_Platform/4.3.CP03/html/Reference_Guide/ch13s09s02.html

This note should instead point the user to the Portlet 2.0 coordination features documented in Chapter 8.

Comment 1 mdarretta 2010-02-09 14:30:37 UTC
This entire 13.9.2 section is very misleading and presumes that JSR-286 is not fully implemented. I suggest it be completely rehauled (or removed) to reflect the JSR-286 standard.

Comment 2 Scott Mumford 2010-06-22 00:53:32 UTC
The note mentioned in the first comment has been removed.
WRT to Mike's comment, is there an argument for overhauling the section in question? Or can it be removed entirely?
For the moment the section has been commented out pending decision and/or new content.

A CP05 version of the Reference Guide has been committed to:
http://svn.jboss.org/repos/portal/docs/enterprise/trunk/4.3.cp05_Reference_Guide/

Comment 3 Thomas Heute 2010-06-28 09:38:03 UTC
Scott, you need to include the jira ID in your commit otherwise we can't keep track of what has been done.
The link: https://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBEPP-158?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.ext.subversion:subversion-commits-tabpanel#issue-tabs should show what you have done for this task

Comment 4 Thomas Heute 2010-06-29 12:58:53 UTC
I removed the section from the trunk, it became obsolete with Portlet 2.0 indeed.
