++ This bug is a clone of bug 794199 ++

There are several CSS-related problems with the way IE 6 displays portal homepage, namely:
* navigation looks really bad
* no logo is displayed
* menu bar has a very big margin
* page is indented to the right
* transparent spaces between items in the menu
* background of fixed colour in some of the images (instead of transparency)

JBEPP-1235 also lists some of these problems for chrome and firefox. Its not just an IE6 issue.
