Thanks for a bug report. This is the same crash as in an upstream bug [1], which is fixed for evolution-mapi-3.3.5+, thus in rawhide/Fedora 17. I'll backport the patch and provide an update for evolution-mapi also for Fedora 16. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=668804 evolution-mapi-3.2.3-2.fc16 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 16. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/evolution-mapi-3.2.3-2.fc16 Package evolution-mapi-3.2.3-2.fc16: * should fix your issue, * was pushed to the Fedora 16 testing repository, * should be available at your local mirror within two days. Update it with: # su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing evolution-mapi-3.2.3-2.fc16' as soon as you are able to. Please go to the following url: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2012-2156/evolution-mapi-3.2.3-2.fc16 then log in and leave karma (feedback). *** Bug 796197 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Thanks for testing the update. It didn't work for you, unfortunately. Based on the place of the crash, is the server currently unavailable for you? I'm asking, because the code of the current execution is checking whether the server is available or not, and the samba4 code crashes while it tries to authenticate you with your kerberos ticket (if any). I thought this is caused by use-after-free on the backend, which the associated upstream bug is basically about, but it seems to be different here. From Scott: the server is not available currently. Hmm, I tried to reproduce this with no luck. I have the function 'test_server_availability' called too, multiple times, but it never gets so deep in kerberos authentication for me, even when I have my ticket refreshed. My server doesn't support kerberos authentication, though. Scott, do you have evolution-mapi configured to authenticate against your server with kerberos? Sorry but I only use MSAD as the authentication source, not Kerberos. Could you try to install an update openchange from this build [1], please? Just click at the bottom on the right buildArch, which will open a page with packages for download at the bottom. It should not crash with this update, but I would like to be sure it helps you, as I'm not able to reproduce this on my end for some reason, before I'll do a regular update. Thanks in advance. Note this change will come into next openchange upstream release, which is planned to be pretty soon, hopefully landing in time for Fedora 17. [1] http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=3845931 Milan, I've installed the patch you wanted me to test. Powered off and then back on, launched evolution and so far no issues. Thanks for testing this, I'm creating an update for openchange in Fedora 16. openchange-0.11-3.fc16 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 16. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/openchange-0.11-3.fc16 Package openchange-0.11-3.fc16: * should fix your issue, * was pushed to the Fedora 16 testing repository, * should be available at your local mirror within two days. Update it with: # su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing openchange-0.11-3.fc16' as soon as you are able to. Please go to the following url: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2012-3328/openchange-0.11-3.fc16 then log in and leave karma (feedback). openchange-0.11-3.fc16 has been pushed to the Fedora 16 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. |
