Description of problem:
As discussed elsewhere it could be beneficial to support RANDR 1.2 in the vesa driver to allow safely to provide greater resolutions than what is currently possible (one case example which would also benefit from this is KVM guest using the VGA display adapter).

This never became important enough, and modern vm hosts expose a better device than vesa anyway.
