Description Jean-Luc Duprat 2012-03-03 18:03:46 UTC
There are several versions of fping that support ipv6.
fping3 and 2.4b2_to-ipv6 for example.

Fedora needs either a version that supports both ipv4 and ipv6; or two separate packages.

Comment 1 Charles R. Anderson 2012-03-03 22:40:17 UTC
fping-2.4b2_to-ipv6 was shipped with Fedora 16 and 15 (and earlier):

>cat /etc/fedora-release
Fedora release 16 (Verne)
>rpm -q fping
fping-2.4b2-11.fc15.x86_64
>rpm -ql fping |grep sbin
/usr/sbin/fping
/usr/sbin/fping6

fping-3 is in testing for Fedora 16 now, and will be backported to 15 as well:

>rpm -q fping
fping-3.0-1.fc16.x86_64
>rpm -ql fping | grep sbin
/usr/sbin/fping
/usr/sbin/fping6
