a few weeks ago I patched yum-updatesd to work again on fedora >= 15. I also inherited the new systemd targets for the service. Probably this wasn't a good idea. The behaviour you have experienced is quite expected. After migration from sysv to systemd the service should be disabled by default. Nevertheless I agree with you. I'm gonna enable yum-updatesd by default again. Await a fix in the next couple of days. yum-updatesd-0.9-11.fc15 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 15. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/yum-updatesd-0.9-11.fc15 yum-updatesd-0.9-11.fc16 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 16. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/yum-updatesd-0.9-11.fc16 yum-updatesd-0.9-11.fc17 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 17. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/yum-updatesd-0.9-11.fc17 Package yum-updatesd-0.9-11.fc17: * should fix your issue, * was pushed to the Fedora 17 testing repository, * should be available at your local mirror within two days.
