Description of problem:
after upgrading the kernel to version 3.3.1-3.fc16.x86_64 I restarted the machine and the dvi output now appears as disconnected. the machine is a laptop with an internal screen (which works ok) and an external monitor connected through a dvi connector. Prior kernel versions worked ok

How reproducible:
restarting the machine. trying to detect the external monitor with the gui or the xrandr command doesn't works

package upgrades done today solved the problem. probably one of these was responsible of the fix:
kernel-3.3.4-1.fc16.x86_64
libdrm-2.4.33-1.fc16.x86_64
xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.11.4-3.fc16.x86_64
