Description of problem:
When logging out from KDE, the system does not consistently restart the kde 
desktop.  Problem has two sets of symptoms:

1) Get a white bloom when the kdesktop trys to restart after logout.

2) Screen goes blank / no signal after logout.

No error messages are reported in the /var/log/messages

How reproducible:
Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Login using KDE
2.Logout
3.See the crash.
4.Repeat Step 1 and 2 until the probelm occurs.
    

Actual Results:  Problem has two sets of symptoms:

1) Get a white bloom when the kdesktop trys to restart after logout.

2) Screen goes blank / no signal after logout.

No error messages are reported in the /var/log/messages

Expected Results:  Desktop should restart and come up with login prompt.

Redht 8.0 with full updates as of 01/11/03

it's fixed in 3.1 release, which is in rawhide.
