Comment 1 Jaroslav Kysela 2012-04-26 13:43:58 UTC
Have you tried to set 'Input Source' to 'Front Mic' in the alsamixer (F4 key - capture - panel)?

Comment 2 Suzanne Logcher 2012-05-01 15:10:55 UTC

current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Because the affected component is
not scheduled to be updated in the current release, Red Hat is unfortunately
unable to address this request at this time. It has been proposed for the next
release. If you would like it considered as an exception in the current
release, please ask your support representative.

OK I can hear some noise from fornt mic but its quality is very very poor.

Can I debug it somehow?

This request was not resolved in time for the current release.
Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if still desired, for consideration in

Comment 7 Jaroslav Kysela 2015-10-19 06:25:19 UTC
Could you retest with latest RHEL6 kernel ?

Comment 8 Ken Benoit 2015-10-29 13:01:07 UTC
I've tested this against a system with Intel 82801JI (ICH10 Family) HD Audio Controller [ALC262] installed. Tested against 6.4 all the way up to 6.7 with the front mic connected and can't manage to reproduce this.
