Description gareth foster 2012-05-05 13:38:34 UTC
Description of problem:
When I try to book F17 Live from a USB stick, the Grub menu comes up, then as soon as I boot, I get a kernel panic.

This is on Fedora 17 Beta.

The motherboard is a TZ77A from Biostar.

I see the following ...

Kernel panic - not syncing: attempted to kill init!

Before that it says pcie_aspm_init_link_state in the trace as the last thing.

I did find this on Google, but nothing else. Sounds a bit like my problem - http://www.spinics.net/lists/kernel/msg1318705.html

Is that patch in the Fedora 17 kernel?

I just tried booting a Fedora 16 Live CD on the same stick, and that works fine.

Fixed in TC3.
