Description Peter H. Jones 2012-05-12 15:16:02 UTC
Created attachment 584032 [details]
VLC typescript with backtrace

Description of problem:
VLC give a backtrace when started as follows:
vlc --key-toggle-fullscreen 65 <filename>.mp3

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
VLC media player 1.1.13 The Luggage (revision exported)

How reproducible:
Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. vlc --key-toggle-fullscreen 65 <filename>.mp3
2. Hit "A"
3.

Actual results:
ABRT dump. I have tried to report previous attempts using ABRT, but after uploading, I get a message saying the backtrace is unusuable.

Expected results:
Normal operation with a different hotkey.

Additional info:
http://www.videolan.org/doc/play-howto/en/ch04.html says sytax for startup is
"% vlc --key-<function> '<code>'" , but
vlc -H gives:
"Hot keys
These settings are the global VLC key bindings, known as "hotkeys".
      --key-toggle-fullscreen <integer>
                                 Fullscreen
"

Will post typescript.txt, containing the backtrace I got on the screen.

I did not find "vlc" as a valid component name. Therefore, I am using "distribution" as a very poor guest. Please help me with that clerical detail.

I tried to change the component field to one using one of the modules appearing in the backtrace. No lock for me,unfortunately.

Comment 2 Bill Nottingham 2012-05-14 15:48:01 UTC
vlc is not shipped in Fedora; ergo, we can't really help you with this. I suggest you file this with whatever project you got VLC from, whether it's the VLC web site, or somewhere else.
