My test machine, which I used to test Fedora 13 and Fedora 16, came back from repair for an overheating CPU, actually came back with a broken synaptics mouse. I tested the machine booting up on F16, but not to actually use it. After raising the bug report, I swapped in the old F13 disk, this session, and the synaptics mouse is still not working. I am closing this bug report, as I cannot verify my original claim until I get my mouse resolved. In any case assigning to more appropriate component, "synaptic" is a package management frontend and nothing to do with mouses. To confirm, hardware issue with laptop post laptop fan replacement. Hardware issue resolved and I can use the mouse with Fedora 17 :- a) From CD b) From Gnome Login |
