So I add again this accounts. And sometimes the disappeared accounts reappeared. This error appeared when I delete one of the doubled account. backtrace_rating: 4 Package: telepathy-mission-control-5.12.0-1.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) When the system started, i started empathy. Then all my accounts was desappeared. When I added my account, i had this error.. backtrace_rating: 4 Package: telepathy-mission-control-5.12.0-1.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) was adding an account on telepathy backtrace_rating: 4 Package: telepathy-mission-control-5.12.0-1.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) was adding an account in empathy backtrace_rating: 4 Package: telepathy-mission-control-5.12.0-1.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) Empathy fails to connect to the MSN server. backtrace_rating: 4 Package: telepathy-mission-control-5.12.0-1.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) No idea. backtrace_rating: 4 Package: telepathy-mission-control-5.12.0-1.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) i was trying to connect tru empathy to MSN messenger, when received this error. also happened when trying to connect to MSN tru "Online Accounts" on user menu backtrace_rating: 4 Package: telepathy-mission-control-5.12.0-1.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) I deleted an account in Empathy. backtrace_rating: 4 Package: telepathy-mission-control-5.12.0-1.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) Network disconnect backtrace_rating: 4 Package: telepathy-mission-control-5.12.0-1.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) Enabling/disabling "People nearby account". HOWEVER, it doesn't always trigger a crash. In the past, I've done while [ 1 ]; do mc-tool disable salut/local_xmpp/account1 mc-tool enable salut/local_xmpp/account1 done with no crash happening; however, after the appended crash, I've done just once "mc-tool disable salut/local_xmpp/account1" and it crashed again. I'm guessing something related to timing is happening here. backtrace_rating: 4 Package: telepathy-mission-control-5.12.0-1.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) Not exactly what I've done but something similar: $ killall /usr/libexec/mission-control-5; MC_DEBUG=all /usr/libexec/mission-control-5 & $ sleep 10; mc-tool enable salut/local_xmpp/account1 (...) (...) (...) process 30916: arguments to dbus_message_iter_append_basic() were incorrect, assertion "_dbus_check_is_valid_utf8 (*string_p)" failed in file dbus-message.c line 2526. This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library. D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace Aborted (core dumped) backtrace_rating: 4 Package: telepathy-mission-control-5.12.0-1.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) Created attachment 598513 [details]
smallbin double linked list corrupted: 0x08a5b3f0 *** log 1
I compiled dbus with -rdynamic (actually, "--enable-asserts") in order to get a better backtrace.
"*** glibc detected *** /usr/libexec/mission-control-5: malloc(): smallbin double linked list corrupted: 0x08a5b3f0 ***"
Test case:
start:
* enable all accounts ()
* repeat ad nauseam enable "People Nearby Account", wait, disable "People Nearby Account" (or you can try "while [ 1 ]; do mc-tool enable salut/local_xmpp/account1; sleep 1; mc-tool disable salut/local_xmpp/account1; done")
* If after 2 minutes nothing happened, give up for ten minutes, try again later.
* If nothing happens then it's because Mission Control got things right and it won't crash. Try killall /usr/libexec/mission-control-5; /usr/libexec/mission-control-5 and then repeat from start.
Just in case the error is originally from other telepathy component, I have enabled:

Have you tried 5.12.1 in updates-testing? Yes :) Seems to be working fine with 5.12.1 :) I've karma'd it up on Fedora's bodhi. Thanks for the tip :) This message is a reminder that Fedora 17 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 17. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '17'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 17's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 17 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 17's end of life. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. Fedora 17 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2013-07-30. Fedora 17 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. |
