Description morten 1999-01-14 10:26:09 UTC
I tried to upgrade Afterstep 1.5 (which kept crashing) which
comes with RH5.2 with 1.6.6 obtained from sunsite.uio.no
which mirrors redhat-contrib. It installed everything in the
wrong places (/usr/local/bin and /usr/local/share instead of
/usr/X11R6/bin and /usr/share), which meant that afterstep
didn't come up at all.

I know I could have fixed things by moving things around or
by creating loads of symlinks, but that kinda defeats the
rpm idea which is why I converted to redhat in the first
place.

Novice users won't appreciate this behavour either, so in
solidarity with them I reinstalled afterstep 1.5.

Best regards,
Morten Knudsen.

Rpm's from RHCN are often packaged differently than "official"
Red Hat RPM's. At some point Red Hat will supply an official
(i.e. compatible) rpm package for AfterStep.

Please reopen this bug with more details regarding AfterStep
"kept crashing" if you wish to get your original problem resolved.
