Description Lin Avator 2012-06-21 10:26:19 UTC
Description of problem:

During install RHEL 6.2 x86_64 to the system with more than one HDDs , it will show "You have not created a /boot/efi partition" if we choose to setup the EFI System partition ( /boot/efi ) onto non-first HDD ( for example , onto /dev/sdb1 ). It will only work if we choose to setup /boot/efi onto the first HDD ( e.g /dev/sda1) .

However, if we verify the same scenario with Fedora 17, there are no such kind of limitations. /boot/efi can be installed onto any HDD at will.

Please kindly help to clarify this issue. If possible, please share us how to patch RHEL 6.2 to resolve this limitation. Therefore, we can fix our PXE server . Thanks a lot in advance !

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Setup x86_64 UEFI hardware with more than one HDDs .
2. Install RHEL 6.2 x86_64 in EFI mode onto the second HDD .
3. The installation will encounter "You have not created a /boot/efi partition" msg and then stop to go ahead.
