Description joshua 2012-06-27 23:19:35 UTC
Description of problem:

http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/17/html-single/Installation_Guide/index.html#sn-boot-options-network

doesn't agree with

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Anaconda_Boot_Options

Notice that ip= and dns= (and more) don't actually work per the later in F17 and later, but are still mentioned in the install guide. In other places, the install guide does reference the Anaconda_Boot_Options wiki, but doesn't forgo listing the older (and now incorrect) boot options as well.

Thanks for reporting this, Joshua.

I've overhauled that section to explain the Dracut syntax for the lone 'ip' boot option and I've generated a new example.

Look better. When does this get published / go live?

The final version will be released on GA day for Fedora 18 (see https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/18/Schedule?rd=Releases/18 for the latest), but a draft will hopefully be released prior to that date.
