bootconf is for grub 1 only. Fedora 17 install/upgrade, installs grub2 by default. If you want to stay on grub 1, you'll need to install it and uninstall grub2 manually; otherwise uninstall bootconf manually. Anaconda cannot resolve all dependencies at upgrade, for many reasons. This needs to be handled manually. There are no plans to update bootconf to grub 2's format at this time; it will probably be deprecated in some upcoming release. |
