Description Stephen Gordon 2012-07-09 19:21:43 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #827793 +++

Inside the doc it reports the following for spice clients.

Browser
• Internet Explorer 7 and higher on Windows, with the SPICE ActiveX control installed
• Mozilla Firefox 3.5 and higher on Linux, with the SPICE plugin installed

The IE Spice ActiveX control is only available under RHEV and needs removed from the oVirt install doc.

Thanks
Robert

Supported clients currently reads:
==================================

To access the Administration Portal, you need a client with a supported web browser. The Administration Portal supports the following clients and browsers:

    Client
        Windows XP,
        Windows 7 (x86, AMD64 and Intel 64), and
        Windows 2008/R2 (x86, AMD64 and Intel 64).
    Browser
Internet Explorer 7 and higher on Windows, with the .NET Framework 4 installed.

To access the User Portal, you need a thin client with a supported web browser. The User Portal supports the following clients and browsers:

    Client
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5 (i386, AMD64 and Intel 64)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 (i386, AMD64 and Intel 64)

What clients (and versions of them) are we supporting for the Admin Portal in 3.1?
What changes, if any, are there to the list of clients we are supporting for the User Portal in 3.1?
Is the SPICE client for Windows still an activex applet in 3.1?

Comment 3 Robert Middleswarth 2012-07-09 21:22:45 UTC
Firefox-XPI for spice under windows. So the only option to support windows is the active-x applet.

Thanks
Robert

Comment 4 Robert Middleswarth 2012-07-09 21:25:20 UTC
Firefox-xpi doesn't exist under windows yet. So the only option under windows is to use the Active-X applet.

Thanks
