Description of problem:

On an F17 running ovirt-engine 3.1, following an upgrade from jboss-as-7.1.1-3.fc17 to jboss-as-7.1.1-4.fc17, the ovirt-engine webadmin console becomes inaccessible. Returning to jboss-as-7.1.1-3.fc17 and restarting the the ovirt-engine service restores the webadmin console.

How reproducible:

Install F17 with ovirt 3.1 engine and -4 jboss-as, ovirt-engine webadmin console won't run. Downgrade to -3, the console runs.

Another ovirt 3.1 tester had the same experience with this update. Please let me know what further information I can provide to troubleshoot this issue.

Jason, could you please attach JBoss AS logs?

This can be possibly related to these bugs: bug 842997 or bug 842996. Could you please apply the workarounds on these bugs and try again jboss-as-7.1.1-4.

Marek, after adding the two symlinks referenced in those bugs and restarting the ovirt-engine service, the console seems to work normally. I'll remove the links, try the -5 package, and leave feedback on it.

* was pushed to the Fedora 17 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing jboss-as-7.1.1-6.fc17'
as soon as you are able to.

jboss-as-7.1.1-6.fc17 has been pushed to the Fedora 17 stable repository.  If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
