Description Artyom Kunyov 2012-08-05 10:36:49 UTC
Description of problem:

Lyrics extension for Banshee doesn't work. It always shows "Could not load type 'System.Func`2' from assembly 'mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.".

Reproducible on two machines with F17.

Here is what is shown in terminal:

artkun@ArtKun-Desktop:~$ banshee

Comment 1 Pacho Ramos 2012-09-30 09:55:43 UTC
Same problem for me in Gentoo, I have reported it to upstream:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=685132

Comment 2 Artyom Kunyov 2012-09-30 10:37:18 UTC
I don't think it's an upstream bug since I never experienced it in Debian Wheezy or openSUSE 12.2.

Comment 3 Cristian Onciu 2012-11-26 09:50:56 UTC
I have the same problem on openSuse 12.2 x64:

Could not load type 'System.Func`2' from assembly 'mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.

Comment 4 Yajo 2012-12-16 08:34:00 UTC
Same problem here, on Fedora 17 with:

$ rpm -q banshee banshee-community-extensions banshee-musicbrainz
banshee-2.4.1-1.fc17.x86_64
banshee-community-extensions-2.4.0-1.fc17.x86_64
banshee-musicbrainz-2.4.1-1.fc17.x86_64

Comment 5 Yajo 2012-12-16 08:36:29 UTC
BTW, if you don't disable the Lyrics plugin and reboot Banshee, the album artwork doesn't display.

Comment 6 Stephen Hatfield 2013-02-12 13:32:32 UTC

I wasn't sure about how to add it to Fedora 18, so if one of you more experience guys could help out; I'd appreciate it! Thanks for all you guys (and gals) do!

Comment 7 Fedora End Of Life 2013-07-03 21:14:40 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 17 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 17. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '17'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 17's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 17 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the
'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 17's end of life.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 8 Artyom Kunyov 2013-07-05 18:22:42 UTC
Still reproducible in F19.

Comment 9 Fedora End Of Life 2015-01-09 17:17:51 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 19 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 19. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now this bug will
be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '19'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 19 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 10 Fedora End Of Life 2015-02-17 14:23:11 UTC
Fedora 19 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2015-01-06. Fedora 19 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
