Description of problem:
After updating to sudo-1.7.2p1-14.el5_8.2.x86_64.rpm the file access permissions of /etc/nsswitch.conf are changed to 600, making the file only readable to root.
If you are using NIS and you have entries like " 
passwd:     files nis" in /etc/nsswitch.conf, ordinary users can no longer "see" those entries. Causing errors like:
"id: cannot find name for user ID 1000"
and a prompt like:
I have no name!@localhost

Changing the file access permissions of /etc/nsswitch.conf back to 644 solves this problem

To solve this problem do
chmod 644 /etc/nsswitch.conf
after updating sudo to 1.7.2p1-14.el5_8.2
