Description Need Real Name 2003-02-20 22:12:29 UTC
Description of problem:
I am unable to get gnome-terminal to display bold characters (as interpreted by
'ul' and 'less' for example).

xterm and KDE's 'konsole' handle this fine.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.0.1-5

How reproducible:
in gnome-terminal:
echo -e 'T\bTE\bES\bST\bT' | ul

Then repeat the above in xterm, noting that the characters appear in bold face
only in the latter.

Steps to Reproduce:
See above.

Actual results:
Normal-appearing characters

Expected results:
Bold characters

Additional info:
This is probably a little-known feature, but it is important in some applications.

In 8.0 it does bold by darkening the character color, so bold isn't visible
if using black text.

In current rawhide (upcoming release) it double-draws the characters at
an offset as in 7.3.
