is it possible to test the rawhide kernel with this ? It has some ext3 vs realtime fixes Current rawhide contains a fix that addresses exactly these symptoms --- scheduling storms or realtime lockups in do_get_write_access. Please reopen if you can reproduce with a current rawhide kernel. This is insanely disappointing!!! I find a bug we can recreated at will that hangs the kernal in 7.3 and 8.0 (both widely used) and the bug report is closed with the statement basically saying "get the next release". This is why linux will never be widely used i.e. you will never have a reliable product because bug fixes and new code are continuously put in, instead of offering fixes / patches to existing releases! Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem persists. The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases, and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in the bug tracker at: http://bugzilla.fedora.us/ |
